Old City Hall

I can't get enough of the Canadian flag hanging in this city. It was as much as I could do to only take one picture. I subsequently tripped and nearly fell over. It was pretty embarrassing hilarious.

I hopped down to King and something-or-other to meet Dani for a few drinks before meeting Leanne at the Eaton's Centre. How nice to amalgamate two worlds in one place.

One Duke

Alicia works at the psychiatric wing of a hospital. It takes a certain person to do this job; to work with these patients; to get so close to coworkers that they are the family on which you can rely when times get tough (or a mouse is nearby). It was a really great time to finally meet some of the men and women of which she speaks so fondly. Here though are simply our reactions to the same picture being taken thrice...

Embarassment

Hilarity

Love.

Hutches

A day of "doing nothing" certainly turns into something when the weather is hot and the babies come in doubles. Off we went in the van to Confederation Park to go for a walk and have some ice cream at the Hamilton staple: Hutches. What a gross place...oh, that was too harsh. It's not GROSS...it's just full of quite interesting people. You'll see soon enough. We had a great time anyway, as we usually do.

Eliana eying the Momma's ice cream...

Back at the air conditioned house, everyone's spirits were lifted. The girls needed a nap (The Momma included)...

"We looooove a good chooch!"

That face...honestly. I'm hoplessly in love.

Ellie grabbing Addy's chub-leg? I can't get enough...

"I just loooove my sister"

Addy's foot...

Ellie's foot...

Cutest kids in the world? We think so.

Swimming and Sleeping

I thought I would show you a bit of my favourite backyard in Ontario...

Not only is it beautiful: tree-lined and a twitter with birds singing...

...but it has room for barbecues and drinks on the patio...

It has room for time spent in the sun, in the shade...

...and of course, time spent in the pool.

Lounging poolside at the Grelliotts'...life is pretty sweet.

And then it gets sweeter :) when this little muffin...

...stops by with her sister and her parents for some muffins ;)

Eventually though, the bebes had to retire. Sleeping for the first night without swaddling, they positioned their arms in exactly the same one-up-one-down arrangement, and faced each other during slumber. They knew the other was there...is this not the sweetest picture you've ever seen? Because you'd be hard-pressed to find one that melts your heart the way this one melts mine.

Good night, Addy!

Good night, Ellie!

Twas a good day.

Another good day. I'll take it.

Wedding Night Recall and Dad's Birthday

While their mother and father were away, the girls slept at the right of this staircase. Laura and Jesse's cat, Teelo, stood guard (I swear) all night outside their room. Love.

The night of the wedding...flowers, swings, and sleeping babies upstairs (who got checked on about a thousand times in one night)

Dad's birthday cake...

The only picture I got of my father during his birthday barbecue...

Mia, my youngest cousin...

Loving my grandfather and I here...

Day Eleven: Rekindling and Recalling

Though I can't post any new pictures of the bebes (but just wait until you see the newest installment...they couldn't be any cuter), I did find this gem that just about made me cry with joy. Michelle, my Leanne-wedding-lova and I. God, that was a good night...

Also, you might need to re-read this post just to get a good idea as to the hilarity that ensued while Leanne and I toured Asia. Leanne? LEANNE?! Oh god.

I hope your evening is as lovely as mine.
