The New House

I know I've been just awful about posting and I really am sorry about that. Believe me, self preservation is rich when it's done right: I've been slacking big time. I think I'll stop RIGHT NOW and take some pictures of my humble abode. That way you can at least look at those when you tire of my writing. Speaking of which (I'll get to the picture taking in a sec), my mother is writing a book and has asked me to script a chapter about how classy she is.

You read it right.

You
gotta love The Mother Hen...not only does she choose the chapter of her life (pun intended) that is entitled best, but she also opts to simultaneously be shed in this absolutely ridiculous light (I think I've posted the story before now). Anyway, I'll be sure to share it and attempt to find it on the old blog. It's hard to archive my own stuff when it's categorized in files as large as, "Everyday Life in Korea" (or whatever it's called). I'll try. Okay, onto those pictures...

I'll start at the bedroom (it's so crowded. I've been told though to exercise caution before hanging anything on the walls, so I've opted instead to simply pile it all up around the bed)...

...note that while my new bathroom isn't quite as spacious as the one at the old house, it's still pretty roomy. Know that this is one of two bathrooms in the house. And winning.

Walk on down the stairs

...turn left into the living room

...equipped with a massive television

...and look straight out into the garden. Ah...it's pretty nice.
Side note: the garage pictured in the top left corner gets up and running with drilling noises at about 7:35 on Saturday mornings. Luckily, it doesn't affect me on weekdays, but come ON. Who needs a car repaired at that hour?

The necessary kitchen shot (simply because the room is huge compared to the tiny galley kitchen we had on Spring Vale North. It's awesome)...

...and these are our fish. Sigh. I never thought I could love something I refused to touch. And then the little fishy faces look at me with a semblance of hope mixed with hunger and my heart sort of melts. It's like the feeling I had after killing the slugs then being overtaken by remorse. If only I wasn't such a softy.

Righto, that's all for now. Work is going really well: the kids are eager (yeah, it's only early September, but they're showing remarkable progress already) and we're up and running for Saturday school this weekend. Oh yeah, the fun never ceases around these parts.

Are you watching the new season of Project Runway? My internet is super slow at home, so it takes hours to watch one episode. FINE by me, believe me. It reminds me of those days spent with Avi, Joelle, and Diti, watching America's Next Top Model over dinner then watching it again over wine. Oh yes, Girls' Night was lovely :)

I hope your week is going well, too.

Hey!

The place is looking good and I hope you had a nice holiday. Even with Saturday morning drilling it should be a better quality of life than Dartford right?!

On another note I really like the blog, makes for really good reading, very enjoyable read!

Kind regards,

Matt
