My Nonna and I went out for the day and I said I'd take her out for lunch at the place of her choice. She chose Easterbrook's. Ha-what? She's so damn adorable: she'd never buy a hot dog for herself (because my grandfather HATES them...talks about it and shudders, in fact), so it was quite the treat for her. It was sweet sitting in the old booths, Connie Smith and Dan McLean looking down on us lovingly. I miss her now...
Right next door is the Austrian Club, where my mother's father is painted on the side of the building, depicted as a rugged gent, climbing a mountain of sorts. It's pretty neat and since Nonna had never seen it, I thought she'd get a kick out of it.
Twas still watermelon season. My how I miss Ontario produce :(
...but Nonno was quite upset that this was nearly the last time I'd see them before returning to Jolly Olde. And now I miss him too...
I reckon this is a horrible picture of me, but we look so happy to be beside each other, I figured I'd leave it in. I wonder what they're doing now?
