Summer in Canada: The Jays' Game

This event has been planned for months.  It was to be THE event of the summer.  Unfortunately, I hadn't planned pre-and post-drinks well and it was a bit of a scramble to get it all underway the day before.  Luckily, Laura offered some great suggestions and Steven and I took the day before to stroll around and find the best possible places.  We started at the Amsterdam Brewhouse...what a great place: right on the lake and just next door to the Rogers Centre.  Key aspects.  After that, this is what transpired...

Steven and I...

met Katie and Matt (who travelled from New York City and Texas, respectively)...

 Frank and Jess...

Erin and Jeffry (pictured later)...

and watched the sunset over the city.

Canadians from England, Rob, Kat, Sam, and Rohit, joined in on the cheering.

Ah!  There's Jeffry!

We were literally in the last rows of the stadium, but it didn't get us down.

Laura, Jesse, Carolyn, and Dave joined us as well...what a treat to see them all again.

Leanne and Mark left Ella with her grandmother (shame I didn't get to see Karen this time around) and joined us for far too many canned beverages (on Steven and my parts, at least!).

Rob and I certainly got into the action (I figure clapping when everyone else is, is probably a good strategy going forward.  As it turns out, the Oakland A's are first in the division, and the Jays are nearly last.  Still, it's all about support, isn't it?)...

And everyone got along swimmingly.

Even Mary (of The May Trip to Ireland fame) came to hang out.  What a treat!

Us Korean veterans had to practice a few poses...this is The Good One.

The Korean One.

And The Sad One.  Matt, you really should have played along ;)

Kat, Frank, Jess, Sam, Rob, and Rohit had left a bit early, so they missed the famed Group Photo.  I think we all got into this part of the evening...

We raced to the Loose Moose afterwards for some more drinks and a live band.  I was starving (nothing new there), and we lost some of the crowd for the Dreaded Parking Meter Feed.  Perhaps not such a bad thing...we got a little carried away in there.  Tears were shed, drinks were spilled, an arm was cut.  Twas time to get back to Queen Street West!

Clearly!

But we squeezed some famed English dance moves in...

...before heading home.

Thank you all so much for coming.  It was so nice to see you all, if only for a brief few hours.  Until next year, you lovely humans, you xxx
