Half Term Mini-Mini-Break One: Spa-ing

In the spirit of doing things on a bit of a budget, remaining low-key, and resting a LOT to store up some energy for the next term, I'm on three mini-mini-breaks this holiday season.

Mini-Mini Break Number One: The Spa

Sheila, Sue, and I packed up our swim suits, our bottles of wine, and our best spa outfits (mine was skinny black pants, a denim shirt, and my infamous [but as of yet unworn in England] black suspenders), and drove out to Sussex. It was a great day for an indoor spa: foggy, cloudy, and gross. Luckily, our spirits were high as we dove into comfortable beds, donned our best spa wear, and drank our wine.

We had cake and coffee a few hours later, followed by a three-course meal at 8. It was so luxurious. Back to the room for some serious conversation about non-serious things, and it was lights out by the wee hours of the morning.

There is something about a teeny road trip with women who are fabulous that just rejuvenates the mind and body, non? And I'll tell you, the delicious food that served as accoutrement certainly did make the night away that much more rich.

Home today, but back out tomorrow for Mini-mini-break Two: Kensington (near Hyde Park).

I hope you are having a swell day :)
