Galway

Galway was adorable.  We spent the day roaming around the town, buying woolen socks, and postcards, and sipping much-needed iced coffee.  Twas grand.

Our little B & B in a town just outside called Oranmore, was lovely as well.  They had a great backyard that enabled us to do some in-the-sun reading for a few hours before we went out for some pints.  Nice.

So there was this on-going joke in the Emerald Isle about McDonagh's.  While staying in Castlebar, the Nanny who made us a pot of tea and showed us to our room told us how to get around.  She used "McDonagh's" as a reference point of sorts and Mary and I were both sure this meant, "McDonald's".  She repeated it though and we were then, separately, convinced she meant, "McDonagh's".  It's not all that funny on its own, but we kept then coming across McDonagh's pubs all across the south of the country.  They were everywhere.  Thankfully we didn't see all the pubs first, which certainly would have led to a conundrum: did she mean McDonald's or McDonagh's?
