Steven and I headed out for an early run and not only did I go over on my ankle, but I fell HARD on the ground (see child-friendly bandaid, above). It was not my best outing. We had done two runs in the previous two days, so I think I was tired, but still, two injuries in one day left me a little worse for wear by the time we went home. I was in so much pain after this glorious beach day, I had to lean on Steven the whole walk back to the car. It was excruciating. A few days off now have left it healed quite nicely, thankfully.
So here you have it: what we thought was the most glorious beach in all of Devon: East Portlemouth, just near Mill Bay. What a joy to get into the freezing cold water (even just to the waist down!) and lounge around on the sandy beach.
After a long day in the sunshine, the clouds rolled in and it was high time to get a fire started. Ah, the good life.
