Effing shocking.
I have had a particularly bad day. To start, someone is giving me the cold shoulder for reasons unknown to me. Seriously? Seriously. I'm in the bloody third grade again.
Second, while running with the kids today, a group of four notoriously AWFUL year 11 students threw, get this, BRICKS at my year 7 students. Oh my ever-loving god. And was I there to protect them? Nope. Because, though this may shock some of you, I can only physically be in one place at one time. Good god. I'm really curious to see how this one plays out with administration. If that was my kid I think I'd be down for... Well it's not my kid is it? And kharmic retribution only works in fairy tales.
Last. I'm at home marking for what feels like the umpteenth day in a bloody row. We have a faculty review coming up and though some people don't dread The Observation, I certainly have been known to lose quite a few nights sleep over it. Anyway, in preparation for the review and because I'm feeling increasingly guilty fir leaving my kids right before their exam, I'm putting in a little more overtime than usual. So I'm marking some tests they wrote today and lo and behold, wouldn't you know that the students who had their HEADS DOWN during the TEST scored the lowest? Duh, right?
So I'm making some pretty pointed phone calls to unsuspecting parents tomorrow. Because I'm working past 8pm and their kid SO is not. Argh.
On a much lighter note, Erik's play opens tonight. I wished him good luck and MIGHT have cursed the whole performance. Seriously? Sorry, mister.
