Today is a new day...a wonderful day. I woke up early and was able to go back to sleep (thank you, Vacay!), drank two french presses of coffee, and talked to Shalaina on the phone for nearly two hours. It was the best best best way to spend the first part of my day (I won't mention what time the day got started...suffice it to say I've been wasting January's days, Dave).
I also got to watch the Koreans shovel...oops, correction: cardboard sign (new verb) their way out of yet another snowy situation. I haven't the foggiest idea why they don't own shovels here (or for that matter, brooms that have handles longer than two feet), but I DO know that this is the most snow Seoul has seen in 70 years. It's like 10 cm! They don't know from snow!
AND THEN I made the best vegetable curry I have EVER eaten in my life!
I also learned yesterday that the bag I borrowed from my Korean Mother will suffice for my backpacking trek to The Big Thai, since it has a whopping 50-litre capacity. I swear I will start packing soon. I wrote Leanne with the shockingly small list of things that the "What to Pack on a Backpacking Trip to Thailand" websites I googled told me to pack and she laughed at me. I guess two t-shirts aren't enough ;)
AND Erin downloaded The September Issue, the movie about Anna Wintour and Vogue's September issue, and I'm pretty sure she's going to get me a copy tonight. Day just could NOT be better. 2010...looking pretty, pretty good!
Three more days until I'm on the plane!!!
