Recalling the Tour
I've been spending some time (more like a teeny tiny bit of time) lately looking back at some pictures from vacations past that I didn't post yet, hence the latest postings. I've been working a LOT lately and though that means not a lot of teaching, it does mean a lot of writing. I like it...it keeps my ability to do it fresh, but it certainly is a different set of skills. Teaching is great: it allows me to think on my feet; change things on a whim; create something from nothing. When I'm writing such formal papers, I have to follow such rigid structures...it's taxing. Anyway, as I explained to some year 9 students, I love the challenge of firing new neurons in my brain, making new synapses, and growing ever more intelligent ;) so I'll keep at it.
Again, I'm looking for some inspiration and not finding much. Since I have a bunch of papers to mark tonight, I was hoping to watch a movie, but there's nothing I really want to see. I might pop over to the grocery store for some dessert. I ran this morning before work, so I'm hungry like the wolf today.
Tomorrow is Friday. Jamie is finding out about her fate at an old school and the weekend is officially beginning. Another week bites the dust. And while this is great news because a weekend is a lovely thing, it does mean even better news: I'm one more week closer to coming home! Only 37 more days, folks. Seriously? Life is definitely sweet.
I like days like this: things are holding steady. There is no news, everyone is doing just fine, and we are waiting for something big to happen (because something big is always around the next corner, isn't it?). Though it means there isn't much to write about ;) it does mean that everyone is juuust fine. And that is great news.
