Inspired by hearing

a hilarious story of weekend failure from Jamie
(who was not the one who failed, note),

"I love you" from my grandfather (be still my heart),

and all about teaching back in Ontario from my Dad,

I've come to recognize that life might actually be too short to take this all so seriously. My mother constantly warns me, "Stop taking yourself so seriously!"

I had a great weekend. Erik came over and we just sat around and relaxed. There was some paper reading, some editing, some policy reading (wow...excitement abounds, I know), some writing, and some eating. Lots of eating. And now I feel rested and ready to take on yet another exciting week ;)

We're off to the Isle of Wight next weekend and I do hope the weather is as breathtaking as the pictures will be...if the weather is nice enough to go outside. Hmm...
