Old-fashioned coke bottles waiting to be picked up
Korea has little pockets of North American life interspursed rarely and miraculously among all things Korean. We all know of Itaewon, the nightlife capital of Korea; the strange and wonderful place where restaurants are multicultural, American Army personnel outnumber Korean people, and the alcohol is a-flowin'. Osan, however, is a more quaint village. Tucked away from the subway station, nearly impossible to find on one's own, Osan (or the subway station, Songtan) is home to the American Air Force base and an adorable little village that reminds me of Westdale in Hamilton. Unlike Itaewon, where the fairly gross Army men swarm, this place is full of nicer folk, gentlemen. Not only the foreigners are nicer, but the shoppe keepers seem more tolerant as well. Prices are in American dollars (I poo poo'd that) and most Koreans speak very beautiful English. Anyhoo, here's some photos of the sights around Osan...nice little place if you need a small burrough-esque environment.
The most adorable cafe (with the best vanilla lattes!)
This was the light fixture in the cafe...swoon
And the Pretty in Pink phone by the cash register
Isn't this just the cutest little children's clothing store?
