Perfect!

Nadia Comaneci at the 1976 Olympic Games: Perfection
So I just got my score back for my first submissions for my online course (formally known as Module 1). Perfect. What what? Yeah, I got perfect on two things...the Educational Rounds (like a round table discussion with a few from my "class") and the submitted assignment, "What Does it Mean to be a Mathematics Teacher?". Since I was totally tardy for a whole week (GASP! and got an email from UWO's Continuing Education office saying I was late and that I had to participate in online discussions at least once every three days...whoops), I only got 7/10 on the discussion part, but my teacher said I was golden and should talk more. Say no more, Lady! I'm on it (I've never had anyone tell me to talk MORE in my life. This is certainly irony, if I've ever seen it).
Anyhoo, I'm still reading this article about assessment in the math classroom. The idea (which might THRILL some of you) is that we should get away from the old quiz-and-test routine and start testing knowledge using other forms of evaluation. Like interpretive dance ;) Though it might not SEEM that interesting, I'm quite engrossed and have spent the last three days pouring over it. Note that I am procrastinating right now, as I have free time before my 2:40 pm class. I should get cracking: no time like the present.
Laura is working on an uber important multi-million dollar proposal right now. I should show my solidarity and get my work done to show her that putting things off certainly does not pay. My thoughts are with ya, sista!
Also note I'm trying to reference where I get all the pictures I use on my blog. I should have really been doing this since the get-go...so I'll start now.
Peace out, homeskillets :)
