Honestly, there are some things that a woman should just know: the Basics. Like how to make soup from whatever is in your fridge, dress a wound, put your hair up with three bobby pins, get red wine out of white clothing, black mould out of the bathroom, and how to cook a 25-pound turkey. I'm serious. This has nothing to do with women's lib: I recognize that some things are so uniquely female in nature that the absence of them in our lives makes us less womanly. Hey, I don't know CPR, so in the event that someone is unconcious, I'm pretty sure my turkey basting ability won't come in handy. I recognize there are other strengths in this world. But I also just looove that traditional, sickly sweet, Martha Stewart homemaker-dom. In the spirit of the holidays (Happy Thanksgiving everyone back home), here's how you fold a fitted sheet. Since that's on my list as well (who doesn't like a neat linen closet?).
