I accomplished pretty little today. Groceries, tuna lemon pasta, and a glimpse into the heart of Dartford.
I'm making an effort to go to church for the duration of lent. Not only is it a bit sacrificial, but it's also an opportunity for some solace and serenity.
Well, that was until I went to the children's mass at 10:30 this morning. It wasn't just the children who were crying, talking, and carrying on: it was the adults too. I got to thinking: if people have no reverence for church, one of the quietest places I knew growing up, and can't keep quiet for 50 minutes on a Sunday morning when we're all pretty much still half asleep anyway, it's no wonder they can't keep quiet in my classroom.
It's all about eye-opening experiences, folks.
Tonight, Laura's off to Janet Jackson, Jamie's at her mother's resting during March Break, and I'm planning the week out here in England. Tutor Tuesday, see Sienna Miller in Flare Path at the Theatre Royal in London on Wednesday, tutoring Thursday, rest on Friday, teach, tutor, then head to the British Library where I've registered for a spot in a Reading Room on Saturday.
Library-ing might not seem like the most exciting way to spend a Saturday afternoon, but the place is supposed to be spectacular. I'll be in Rare Books and Music if anyone wants to come along!
Busy week...no rest for the repenting ;)
I'm going to get back to Country Strong now. I've been trying all day to finish it, but I keep finding distractions to occupy me.
