SELF, Day Fourteen: Test Results

This is what the weather does not look like up London.
It's sunny as summer and getting warmer on the daily.

I marked some tests today and they were not good, my friends. Not good.

BUT the answers, "It wouldn't work" or "Because" really do tickle my fancy.

I tutored tonight and the kid is so amazingly smart. Here is the logic problem she couldn't solve. See if you can...

A man has to move a sack of corn, a chicken, and a fox across a river. He has a small boat and can only fit one thing in the boat with him at a time. If he leaves the chicken with the corn, the chicken will eat the corn. If he leaves the fox with the chicken, the fox will eat the chicken. He must keep all three things in tact and they must all cross the river. How does he do it?

I love stumping a genius ;)

Oh, and 16-200mg tablets of Advil here cost 29 pence. That's about fifty cents back home. I'm loading right up.

No one seems to have enswered this little gem -
First I'd take the chicken across. This I'd go back and ge the corn, taking the chicken back with me. Then leave the chicken behind and take the fox, returning empty for the chicken. Then, as I'm sure you've already figured out- the fox would eat me, the chicken and then the corn. In that order.
