I found a great new blog (what else is new) and thought I would share a bit of one post.
I was trying to get myself out the “Monday funk” when I remembered something a teacher of mine mentioned recently. He said that we should live our lives with “the 8 hour rule”. 8 hours of sleep, 8 hours of work, and 8 hours for you each and everyday. I think this is a great rule to live by and that it makes a lot of sense. In our society it’s normal to work for 12 hours, sleep for 5, and the rest is spent drinking coffee in an attempt to keep up.
Post can be found here.
The author is nutritionist, Meghan Ford, who runs NutritiousMeg. It's great...full of healthy tips for those of us who are serious about making conscious choices that make our bodies better. That is, if you won't eat hard-boiled eggs, quinoa, or drink alternate milks (soy or almond to name a few), this isn't for you. But if you, like me, like to dabble in the healthy alternative lifestyle and constantly endeavour to make it easier and better, you might want to check her out.
Anyway, isn't this a great idea? 8 hours of sleep DEFINITELY makes me feel amazing, especially after a grueling day of working out and running. 8 hours of work is hard to avoid (but in Korea, more is definitely acceptable...not for Yours Truly though!), and 8 hours to yourself. What a treat! I'm going to attempt to implement this too, amid my other lofty goals. Why not treat myself to something wonderful? I thought you might like that :)
Great blog! Great day!
