See it with your own eyes

Last night we gathered as we do every week, for Shabu Shabu. I thought that since a picture is worth a thousand words, I would give the gab a little break and show you what we wait for eagerly for six days. It makes me pretty, pretty happy! Here's how it starts:

The pot in the centre of the table is presented with spicy broth, greens, and mushrooms. It cooks down to look like this...

Then the meat comes...pretty much the highlight of the night.

The Texans, Katie, and I are happy as clams ready to mow down :)

Noodles are served for later...

...soy sauce with wasabi for dipping...

...and mandoo (dumplings) are "service" (given as extra because we frequent the joint so much):

The noodles go in the pot after the meat and vegetables have been consumed. Once the noodles are gone, the liquid is dumped out and reserved for later. In the empty pot, the rice, egg, and green onion mix is cooked and spread out. The liquid (which has thickened to sludge by now) is poured over the rice for extra deliciousness.

And...the aftermath...

I hope your dinner was as delicious.
