Just a Girl with a Bag

Just a kid with a bag over her shoulder,
ready to go!
I'm excited for you,
off on another adventure!
It's your time!

When I was living at The Palace and in Teacher's College, it seemed as though I was reverting a bit in life. I mean, I had The Relationship, The House, The Cat, The Job and now I had A Room, A Rental Property, and A Free Spirit. One night I was back in Hamilton visiting my family, when Jackie came to pick me up from my Dad's house. There I was, standing with a huge duffel bag, packed to the brim, waiting for the next part of my journey.

Jackie could hardly contain herself. She kept saying I was a kid again: a free spirit who got a second chance at life; an opportunity to throw away all the things that weren't working for me and jump into a career, a relationship, and a home that would all be healthy, progressive, and happy. What a thrill. I was 27 years old and I was a kid again. Now that's living!

As I always say, I could never have made these giant leaps and plunged into my new life had it not been for the incredible support of my family and friends. It should be said all the time: they are truly remarkable and never waver in their love.

I guess she's right. Here I go again on yet another journey. I don't know yet where this one will take me, but I'm fairly certain that it will be an amazing new chapter for me. But first, 90 days from today, I'm hopping on a plane back home to reunite with those lovelies I left behind (and to meet Our New Girl!). What a life, indeed!
