Around Seoul in Black and White

Seoul is a strange city. If you're not careful, this is all you'll see.

Building after building, and so many more going up by the day.

Rushing by on the subway, it becomes clear that blocking out the beauty of the place is a very easy thing to do. Maybe that's why so many Koreans are zonked out while they ride public transport. Since rail transport is still a novelty for me and I don't have to face the monotony of doing it daily, I can find pockets of life, tiny moments that pull at my heart strings...remind me that everything I do has a purpose here, and everything I see would mean something to someone. If only they saw it.

We race over the river, which is quite possibly the most appealing part of the city. Every time I have the pleasure of crossing it, I'm astonished that these people don't become tourists in their own city. It's spectacular...

Even more amazing is the blue reflective sun protector at the top of the subway doors. It tints the city a hue only seen in Thai waters and in dreams. How could I not love it?

Still, it goes whizzing by. After all, seven months have passed here. I still have to see the top of the N. Seoul Tower, the Andy Warhol at the Seoul Museum of Art, and Jeju Island. As always, time marches on...

I guess someone's always watching though ;)
