Looking Back

Awesome and relevant update for my daily life here in Koooorea: my new school is essentially completed and we moved into the new teachers' office. I'm ten feet from the vice principal and directly across from my Korean Mother. The school has central heat, so it's actually warm, which makes me very happy. I'm not sure that I'll actually stay in that new office, because they've built this state-of-the-art English Zone (so cute) where I might teach 100% of the time (instead of moving from room to room, like I did back in 2009).

Anyway, it's nice to be in a new environment for the new year (Korean school year starts March 2...don't ask what I'll be doing for the next two weeks. Don't ask how many weeks of vacay I've had since I got here either. You won't like the answer)...nice to have a new place to work for the home stretch. Whoot whoot!

Things that are making me super happy right now:
  • hot coffee from the french press mid afternoon
  • Rosetta Stone...it's rocking my world right now
  • the blazer I wore out last night
  • watching Project Runway instead of studying Italian (oops)
  • my lemon spinach tuna pasta recipe (I think that counts as studying!)

My Mother Hen has been making comments lately about how peaceful I look. I feel peaceful. I saw a gal last night who we haven't seen since the summer. It was so wonderful to see ourselves reflected in her eyes and recognize the amazing strides we've taken to move from a little hurt and a lot terrified to joyful and excited about our lives. It feels great to be here, right now, doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing. And hey, another four day weekend doesn't hurt either ;) Matt and most of my other friends are off for two weeks in Thailand, so I'll have to adapt to life without my neighbour for a bit.
