Yesterday I received an extra special surprise in my mail box: a hand-written letter from my Zia Pat. She is my Nonna's sister, is the grandmother of my godson, and holds the official title of Best Hugger in the family. She also makes great coffee, so much so that I just had to have the percolator she uses at her house.
Her letter was short and very, very sweet. Best of all, it was unexpected. Who says the art of letter writing, or "correspondence" as Martha Stewart would say, is gone? Not I, friends, not I.
Then I got an email from my mom. I suspect it was written in the early morning when she was still a bit groggy from sleep, hopped up on energy from reading my blog. Here was a sentence at the end of a hilarious email:
A new bread factory is opening in Hamilton which will employ 300 people- that could be better than Starbucks!
I wrote her back, asking her to explain exactly why a bread factory
is better than Starbucks, but I have a feeling I won't get an answer. So
there you have it: bread...better than 'Bucks? You decide!
She also suggested a solution to my bra dilemma: there is
a store (in Burlington, I would assume) that makes custom bras. We'll be there with bells on.
