Trapped!

I took a trip awhile back to an old Korean prison. The Japanese kept the Koreans imprisoned there during the former's occupation of Korea. It was a really dreary place (obviously), but shockingly, it was surrounded by majestic mountains. I'm surprised I forgot to post this. Since I'm putting off the Italian for just a bit longer, I'll do this instead ;)

This is me looking inside the woman's underground prison cells. Not sure why they were kept down there...maybe it was prior to execution? Who knows. It was gross. Apparently the cells were 160 cm high (I'm 183 centimetres tall)...so freaky.

This is the solitary confinement cell...it was very, very small.

Ahhh...the glory of Konglish. This sign reads, "The playground of a prisoner." Yeah, seems like a fun place to play in. Sigh.

Inside the non-heated prison, this was the view from the ground, looking up. Pretty impressive for a prison, non?

Lastly, the doors to the cells. Would it be uncouth to note how beautiful they are? I think so. I'm doing it anyway...love them.
