My family went to my grandparents' house last weekend to celebrate my Nonna's birthday. My cousin Sarah took some pictures and was kind enough to post them so I could steal 'em! As I said to Sarah, it's hard to describe exactly how strong the sense of longing is to be back on those brown dining room chairs, drinking espresso from those cups and eating that inevitably-soaked-in-rum-and-from-Sam's-Bakery-on-Queenston-Road birthday cake. Here's what I missed:
My dad is on the left, my aunt Marcy...ohhhh! She's the next birthday (actually, today is her birthday), so she's pulling the knife out! Nice to see that tradition is still being upheld! I didn't notice that until right now. How cute is my family? Nonno is on the right, and Mia's in the corner.
