Kara's Story

While out for dinner on Saturday night, we got to talking about marriage. inevitably, the question arose: how do you know it isn't just going to fail?

You don't.

And in the spirit of living in the present and not over-focusing on the future, I'll tell Kara's story.

Kara asked her mother, "When you married Dad, did you know it would last forever?"

"Oh, God no", her mother replied.

"Then why (clearly flabbergasted) did you marry him?"

"I married him because I loved him, I had fun with him, and it's what I wanted to do.

There's no, 'I married him for his potential' there!

They've been happily married for 29 years. Remarkable.
