I'm elated
(that this t-shirt is not going to be my motto anymore!).
(that this t-shirt is not going to be my motto anymore!).
Mrs. Lim and I just confirmed details of my new three-hour-a-week gig. I can't say anymore about it because I'm confined by the federal regulations of the nation where I currently have residency. But let's just say I'm pumped RIGHT up.
To add jubilation to elation (because celebrating the small victories is what I'm all about right now), there is now toilet paper in the bathroom (up until this point, we had to bring our own in from the place it sat in the staffroom...how embarrassing) AND paper towels in there too. To put this all in perspective, it is rare to find a bathroom in Korea with either of these "necessities", never mind both. This is truly a world-class educational facility ;)
I had four, count 'em! four! classes today and they were all really great. Aside from scrambling around like a maniac three minutes after class started to find something to do with them (duh), it was a good day. I feel healthy, can't wait to have dinner, I applied to yet another job in Italia, and good things are happening all around me. For instance, take my conversation with my principal just now...
Him: Why are you sitting in the hallway (translation: walkway/passageway between and among desks)
Me (smiling): I'm really sorry. I'll move.
Him: You make me so angry now.
...at which point all the teachers turn, shocked and frightened, to find out why he said this. We don't take him lightly ever and when he says he's mad, he's really mad.
Me (peels of laughter escaping, uncontrollably): No you aren't!
Him: Okay, you can sit wherever you want. Okay?
Sounds like (albeit entirely strange) happiness to me!
